Current Weather Conditions

Wee Blether

As previously mentioned in our first post, the trip to Croatia was amazing and the weather was perfect.  We stayed at Port 9 which had it’s own little beach and was in a sheltered port/marina and worked well for a nice place to launch and explore from.  There was quite a few options to explore either around nearby islands, over towards the main town of Korcula or within the marina itself.  There were places to rent SUPs from however due to it being late in the season these were closed for the winter.

It’s worth spending at least one day exploring the beautiful historic town of Korcula (same name as the island) which is said to be the birth place of famous historical explorer Marco Polo.  The town is a 20-30 min walk from the Port 9 resort and as well as the beautiful restaurants specialising in fresh seafood and the local delicacy of hand made macaroni also has museums, local artisan shops and plenty of places for sensational icecreams!  There is also an awesome tower bar Massimo Bar, as it sounds, is a bar located at the top of a historical tower with a sensational view out over the water to the mainland.
